A young upstart among the old European powers, the Japanese Empire has shown an eagerness for expansion that has rapidly brought them from an isolationist state in the Pacific to a powerful and technologically advanced Empire with holdings not only across the Earth but into the far reaches of the Aether.

No growth is without its pains, however, and the Empire struggles internally with endless courtly intrigues and rivalries, a multitude of forces each trying to influence the direction the new Empire takes as it moves forward into the global stage.
